ABOUT ME
Melody Chen is from the Bay Area, CA and currently at NYU's New Studio on Broadway studying Musical Theatre, Class of 2026.
Self-generative, sensitive, and bold, her work as an actor and choreographer is dedicated to new work that structurally decolonizes arts rooms into anti-oppressive brave spaces. Fluent on both sides of the table, she thrives in process-oriented, all-hands-on-deck experimental rooms. Inspired by everything from William Shakespeare to Jazmine Sullivan, Melody aims to use her talents to uplift marginalized voices. Of course I love performing, but I always keep in my heart my parents and ancestors who fought so hard so I have the privilege to chase my dreams. It's an honor to audition.
